TELL ME ABOUT THIS PROGRAM

The main objective of the program is to offer students the opportunity to expand their knowledge of the language and the cultures of the Spanish-speaking world. Students will live in Santiago, the second largest city in the Dominican Republic with almost one million people. In addition to the two rigorous academic courses, the students will participate in a service-learning opportunity at a local community organization. They will also experience the rich Dominican culture through excursions to Santo Domingo, a city with gorgeous architecture and a rich history; La Romana, home the vibrant artist community Altos de Chavón; Bayahibe, a fishing village with white sand beaches; and Saona Island, part of the Parque Nacional del Este. Other cultural activities include group dance lessons, visits to museums, craft factories, a Haitian market, and more
